just came back from my trip to north vietnam in the middle of the week. we visited hanoi city, sapa and halong bay.
i had a good time. crossing the roads in hanoi were thrilling. reminded me of phnom penh in cambodia. hanoi was extensively covered by us mainly on foot most of the time. the weather was good. very cooling in fact. great for walking. i felt cold on some of the days, especially when the wind was blowing. time with seth was great. we had alot of good sharings and fun. personally, i was very encouraged by the sharings. we sang lots of praise songs. our friendship has indeed grown. god is an awesome god. thank you jesus for the wonderful weather and for everything that happened during the trip.
the best part of the trip and definitely one of my favourite places in vietnam was sapa. a region that is 1650m above sea level. temperature in the day was comfortable. at night it was cold. i like the way the clouds drift in and out of the valley. the scenery was absolutely stunning! i felt like i was above the clouds. another plus point was that our hotel was situated at the summit, so you can imagine the views we had were spectacular. the minorities, also known as hmongs, who are living around the area in sapa are interesting. it was amazing to hear the tune of amazing grace being hummed by a minority girl in sapa. the hmongs guides had a very good command of english compared to most of the city dwellers in hanoi.
the most interesting experience in hanoi city got to be the water puppet show. 2 thumbs up for the performance. something that you got to do when you are in hanoi.
