i met my colleagues, su sze and po fong today at paya lebar mrt station. we took bus 28 that brought us to SPCA! this was my first trip to the animal shelter. anyhow, the place was cool! i really had a great time with the animals. the animals were simply adorable. big dogs, puppies, rabbits, cats and kittens. the beagle was cute. it kept itself busy by pulling at my shoelace and my sling bag strap. it pounced onto me a few times. melted my heart man.

never had i come into physical contact with so many dogs in a single day! at first, i was primarily playing with the smallish dogs. there was a big brown husky dog in one of the cages. i was quite hesitant to enter the cage of a big husky dog at first. i was afraid it might jumped onto me like the beagle puppy. nevertheless, i did not want to miss the chance of holding a husky dog. i unhinged the lock and entered the cage with su sze and po fong. the husky dog came and sniffed at me. i stroked its back with one hand and played with it using the other hand. it wasn't long before the dog became excited. it caught me off guard. the dog stood on its hind legs and jumped onto me. the dog was rather tall. wow...

we went into a room where cats were allowed to roam freely. there were many toys for them to play with and lots of miniature "houses" for the cats to rest in. most of the cats were sleeping. what was interesting and funny at the same time was the way the cats hold their fore legs to cover their eyes while sleeping belly up.

we washed our hands after all the animal handling and sat at the entrance of SPCA to finish off the drinks that we got at a vending machine. next we took bus 93 to thomson area. po fong went for her volunteer work while me and su sze went to visit the plant nurseries. su sze had a good knowledge on food plants. she showed me the plant that is used in making tom yam soup. cool...
